There is always something happening in virtual reality. The difficult part is often finding it in time.
That is why I created EventsVR.net: an event listing and discovery website designed to bring events from across social VR into one useful place. Instead of relying on a collection of Discord servers, social posts and platform-specific calendars, people can open EventsVR and see what is live, what is coming up and where they can join.
EventsVR is one of my own ongoing projects, built to make VR events easier to discover and to help the people creating those experiences reach a wider community.
One calendar for events across VR
EventsVR is not limited to one virtual world. It is built for events across VR platforms, from established social spaces to smaller communities that deserve to be discovered.
The platform currently supports listings for services including VRChat, Resonite, Rec Room, ENGAGE, Bigscreen, ClusterVR, NeosVR, UtopiaVR, Mozilla Hubs, BurnerSphere and AltspaceVR. Visitors can browse everything together or narrow the calendar to the platform they use.
That shared view is important. A great performance, meetup, tour, game night or creator session should not disappear simply because it was announced somewhere outside your usual online circles.
Find what is happening now
The EventsVR discovery page puts live and upcoming events front and centre. Featured events provide a quick starting point, while filters help visitors move between all events, featured listings, pop-up events and recurring events.
Events can also be sorted and filtered by platform. Times are shown in the visitor's chosen timezone, removing the mental arithmetic that often comes with international VR communities.
Each listing is intended to answer the practical questions quickly:
- What is the event?
- Which VR platform is it on?
- When does it begin in my timezone?
- Who is hosting it?
- Is it already live?
- Where can I find the full details?
The aim is simple: spend less time searching for an event and more time being part of it.
Follow communities and plan ahead
EventsVR is more than a scrolling event calendar. Creating an account opens up tools for keeping track of the people, groups and events that matter to you.
Visitors can RSVP to events, manage notifications and follow activity around the communities they enjoy. Channels, groups, recurring listings and pop-up events make it easier to discover both established organisers and something completely new.
For regular VR users, that means having a clearer picture of what is coming up. For someone who is new to social VR, it provides an approachable way to find active communities instead of entering an empty world and wondering where everyone is.
A place for hosts and promoters
Event discovery only works when hosts have a practical way to share what they are creating.
EventsVR gives organisers a dedicated home for event listings and tools for managing future events. Promoter and channel features are designed to help communities organise their presence, keep information current and make events discoverable beyond a single social post.
Bringing listings together also gives events a longer and more useful life. People can find them while browsing by date, platform or event type, even if they missed the original announcement.
Why I am building EventsVR
I have spent years around virtual worlds, creators, event hosts and the communities that form around them. One lesson keeps coming back: the technology matters, but the people and the moments they create are what make a platform feel alive.
EventsVR is my way of helping those moments reach people.
I want it to be useful to the person looking for something to do tonight, the host preparing their first meetup, the established community running a weekly event and the curious visitor exploring a VR platform they have never tried before.
The website will continue to grow as I work on event discovery, community features and better tools for hosts. Like any active project, it will keep evolving in response to how people actually use it.
