!FireR.at Altspace & Banter Games page
FireR.at provides a collection of multiplayer games designed for AltspaceVR and BanterVR worlds. The games are serverless: players share the game state through the space, so the game does not need a separate game server.
Visit the official Altspace & Banter Games page for the latest scripts, guides and source links.
How these games work
In simple terms, a game is a small web script that you place inside your world’s HTML. When the world loads, the script creates the board or table in the 3D space. Players joining the same world see the same game and take turns through the shared space state.
There are two ways to add a game in AltspaceVR:
- Open the world editor on altvr.app, open SNIPPETS, choose All, and select the game’s snippet.
- Add the game’s
<script>element to your world’s HTML file, usuallyindex.html.
The FireR.at page also lists the corresponding Unity snippet component for creators who use the Unity workflow, but the HTML script method does not require Unity.
Basic HTML setup
Add a script like this inside your world’s HTML:
<script src="https://checkers.firer.at/Checkers.js" position="0 1.1 -2" scale="1.5" rotation="0 45 0"></script>
The src points to the game script. position places it in the world, rotation turns it, and scale changes its size. Use a unique instance value when you want separate tables or rooms to keep separate game states.
Board games
Board games use a shared board and turn-based state. FireR.at lists common options such as position, rotation, scale and whether the game controls should be visible.
Checkers
Checkers supports forced jumps, turn validation and automatic king promotion.

A simple way to choose a game
- Choose Tic-Tac-Toe or Connect 4 for a quick, easy-to-explain activity.
- Choose Chess, Checkers or Reversi for a more traditional board-game table.
- Choose Go or Gomoku for grid-based strategy.
- Choose Blackjack, UNO or Rummy10 for a shared card table.
- Choose Holograms Against Humanity for a larger group activity.
Start with one script, save your world, enter the space and check that the game appears where expected. Then invite another player into the same instance to confirm that the state is shared correctly.
